> France Travail (formerly Pôle Emploi) is the French public employment service. In March 2024, a social engineering cyberattack exposed the data of 36.8 million people (names, social security numbers, addresses, emails, phone numbers). On January 22, 2026, the CNIL fined France Travail €5 million for failing to ensure data security, citing weak authentication and insufficient logging. France Travail did not contest the decision. Users may exercise their rights of access, rectification, restriction and objection by contacting the DPO.
